Timberset prefabricated cabin

This is the first of our collaborations with Timberset Homes, to design highly energy efficient, small homes which can be prefabricated. Timberset buildings are largely constructed from solid plantation timber. This warmth and cosiness is proven to offer health benefits thanks to timber’s ability to reduce moisture in the room by ‘breathing’. This ‘breathing’ process draws airborne moisture from the room when humid, and releases moisture back into the room once dry, leaving rooms always at the optimal humidity level and thus minimising any potential for bacteria and mould. This high level of air quality, natural finish and better acoustic quality create a calming natural environment for you to enjoy.

This cabin is a single module one bedroom home, meaning it can be completely prefabricated off-site and delivered to your own site in one complete unit. It features Weathertex externally cladding which is an all natural and durable product suitable for up to BAL 19, Colorbond Enseam roofing and cladding, and high quality Miglas timber aluminium composite double-glazed windows.

Every material and finish inside the cabin is chosen for its low toxicity and natural properties, and almost everything is sourced from companies who manufacture in Australia. The first thing you notice when walking into this nearly finished display home is that there is no smell, unlike the new carpet and new paint smell you get in a typical new home. That is the smell of Volatile Off-gassing Compounds!

This cabin is built as a display home and can be viewed by appointment. Contact Timberset Homes here to make a booking.
